Stop texting, vining, instagramming, tweeting, and using your phone while driving. It doesn’t matter how good of a driver you think you are because you’re not. It’s selfish because you’re not the only person on the road, and if you’re going to drive, it deserves your full attention. It literally only takes one second, if that, of your attention being on your phone for an accident to happen.
i literally do not give a shit if youre bored, driving isnt supposed to be fucking fun its supposed to get your from point A to point B and that is it. Think about how stupid “but i was bored” would sound as an answer to a grieving person who lost a loved one because you’re too immature to take the responsibility of driving seriously. Distracted driving impacts your driving safety as severely as drinking and drugs, this is a serious fucking issue and I am sick of constantly seeing drivers–of all ages–looking up and down at their phone (i do not drive anymore because of severe anxiety over it that impacted my ability to operate a vehicle safely, so i observe drivers a LOT). One of my biggest realistic fears is the my husband and/or I will be killed because some dip shit was “bored” while driving. We have come close numerous occasions. And this whole attitude that people MUST TEXT BACK immediately definitely doesnt help anything, that added pressure to always respond and be On otherwise you risk making someone angry? Like please everyone fucking chill about response times, that is absolutely interrelated with texting and driving.
I fundamentally do not respect people who put their own entertainment over the safety and lives of others, there is no excuse that isnt utterly selfish
